Hal Siden
Dr. Siden has expertise in pediatric palliative care and pain management. He has worked for 20 years with children living with complex conditions and life-threatening diseases. Many of the children Dr. Siden sees battle uncomfortable and painful symptoms as a result of their condition, some of them difficult to explain.
Stephanie Glegg
Dr. Glegg is an occupational therapist and implementation scientist whose research examines the barriers, enablers, and effectiveness of strategies to move knowledge into action to improve health care. Partnering with the people who will benefit from or be impacted by the research, her research spans individual, organizational, community and policy contexts.
Tim Oberlander
Dr. Oberlander is a physician-scientist whose work “bridges” developmental neurosciences and community child health. He has particular expertise in managing pain in children across a wide range of developmental ages and abilities. His work seeks to advance care using an integrated approach to managing pain that incorporates a developmental perspective and enables a holistic approach to pain management and prevention.
Caroline Sanders
Caroline is an Associate Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia in the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences. She is an interdisciplinary scholar focusing on child health, rare conditions, and action-and-participant-orientated engagement. Caroline has a longstanding partnered research program working with children and families in northern BC.
Sharon Hou
Sharon is a registered psychologist and postdoctoral fellow at UBC and BC Children's Hospital. Sharon’s research and clinical interests are in advancing diversity and health equity in children’s health and well-being. Sharon is taking a lead role on the PIUO Phase 2 project to develop and guide the implementation of the Path Pathway in community pediatric practices.
Gail Andrews
Gail is a dedicated professional at the intersection of healthcare and research. With a background as a bedside nurse and a role as a research manager, Gail is a key player responsible for steering the ship of our clinical projects. In her capacity, Gail takes charge of the operational direction, finances, and administration of our initiatives. Her role as a bedside nurse brings valuable hands-on experience to the table, ensuring a practical perspective in the planning and execution of research endeavours. Gail's ability to bridge the gap between the clinical and research worlds is a testament to her well-rounded expertise.
Laesa Kim
Laesa is parent partner in pediatric health research, supporting our team as a Family Liaison and parent research, leaning on her an author, a vocal advocate for the medically complex community, and works as a parent partner in pediatric health research and shares her lived experiences on social media to bridge connections with other medical families.
Anne-Mette Hermansen
Anne-Mette has worked with Dr. Siden for many years now in the role of Research Coordinator. She has been part of a number of projects, as a researcher, as an assistant to our many collaborators, as a supervisor to our students and as admin support throughout. Anne-Mette has a background in anthropology and especially enjoys diving deep into qualitative research methodologies and working closely with the families that are part of our studies.
